Our New Address!
I’m so excited. I (and Theatrefolk) have a new address! It’s now less than a month till the big move to Crystal Beach and our new home and our new office. Personally, I’d like to move now. Like right now. Like five minutes ago. Screw this blog I’m outa here!
(sound of over enthusiastic bouncing steps through the apartment and out the door. Door slams. Silence. Door slowly creaks open. Sound of much less enthusiastic steps move back toward the computer)
Yeah, so I can’t actually move now. Which is actually a good thing. There’s a lot to do. Like change our address on every thing. Everything. Every invoice, web page, business card, fax cover sheet, script, sample, and so on. You never realize how many times your address appears until you have to change it.
And that’s just the beginning. After changing the address, you have to tell everyone that you’ve changed your address. We’ve been at the same place for 9 years, that’s since before the birth of the publishing company. No one knows us at any other address. People don’t like change. Change makes people cranky.
Also teachers can be pack rats. We get orders from catalogues that are years old. How do we get them to throw out the old and embrace the new?
Oh, it’ll all be all right. Cause we’re moving! We’re getting a house! (sound of joyful bouncing up and down)
